Western Classical Music

Classical music is music that is classical in the sense of something “that has recognized the lasting artistic and cultural value” and that it is considered especially valuable, and part of a cultural heritage. Some composers such as Mozart and Beethoven were in the 1800s a kind of hero status and their work became the standard work on the emerging orchestral institutions, in opera houses, at chamber music and solo recitals. The repertoire shifted dramatically from that in the late 1700s have consisted of music by contemporary, living composers, that 100 years later composed the music of mainly “classical”, no longer living composers.
